Attractions
The Hotel Everest is well situated for everything
you need for a perfect, relaxing holiday.
The sandy beach resort of Ölüdeniz is just a 10
minute ride via the cheap local bus service (called the dolmuþ)
where you can enjoy everything from water sports and boat trips to
simply bathing in the world famous Blue Lagoon.
A 10 minute stroll from the Hotel will bring you
to the local village of Hisarönü where you’ll find dozens of
restaurants and bars representing just about every possible cuisine
imaginable - Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Indian - as well as
plenty of Turkish and English restaurants.
The market town of Fethiye with its impressive
harbour and marina is just a short bus ride away for all those
shopping necessities. The weekly market is well worth a visit to
sample the authentic Turkish atmosphere, and to put your haggling
skills to good use!
Turkey also has a rich and varied history and
whilst visiting the country you may like to take the opportunity to
view a sample of it’s cultural heritage. Excursions can be arranged
from the Hotel to Ephesus, Parmukkale and other sites of interest.
If history isn’t your thing then other trips and
attractions are available; an all-day jeep safari is a real thrill
and a great opportunity to get to see local beauty spots such as
Saklýkent Gorge and Patara Beach (voted the world’s finest beach by
English travel writers). Horse riding along the lagoon in the early
morning is a fantastic experience, as is scuba diving in the crystal
clear waters around Fethiye.
Ölüdeniz is also one of the world’s finest
paragliding centres. Novices can be driven up to the top of Mount
Babadað and, after proper tuition, fly in tandem with a qualified
instructor to land on Ölüdeniz beach some 1970 m below!
Another experience that you must try whilst on
holiday is the Turkish bath or Hamam. It’s particularly recommended
at the start of your holiday to soothe away the stresses of UK life
and to prepare your body and mind for the relaxation to come, and
its said that it helps you retain your tan for longer too!
